Investigations will focus on companies listed on the Bureau of Industry and Security’s Entity List or identified by the Secretary of Defense as Chinese military companies. The Attorney General is required to consult with relevant Department of Justice components and coordinate with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other federal agencies. The CCP Initiative will operate separately from other Department of Justice initiatives and its resources will be solely dedicated to its objectives. The Attorney General must submit an annual report to congressional committees on the initiative's progress, challenges, and resource utilization. This Act will cease to be in effect six years after its enactment.
