The USAGM CEO is authorized to disseminate information about the US abroad through various media. Such information may not be disseminated within the US, except as provided in subsection (b). The USAGM CEO shall make available certain materials for domestic distribution 12 years after initial dissemination abroad. The Archivist of the US shall be the official custodian of such materials and promulgate regulations for their release. Amounts appropriated to the USAGM may not be used to influence public opinion in the US, with certain exceptions.
