The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is authorized appropriations from $9.91 billion in 2027 to $19.32 billion in 2036, also adjusted for inflation. The Department of Defense health program's research, development, test, and evaluation program receives appropriations from $2.94 billion in 2027 to $5.73 billion in 2036, with subsequent years adjusted for inflation. The Department of Veterans Affairs' medical and prosthetics research program is authorized appropriations from $1.07 billion in 2027 to $1.98 billion in 2036, with subsequent years adjusted for inflation. Appropriations made under this section are available until expended. Section 255(g)(1)(A) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act is amended to exempt appropriations under the American Cures Act from sequestration. The budgetary effects of this section are exempt from certain PAYGO scorecards.
