What does RETENTION OF EXPERIENCED REGULAR AIR FORCE FIGHTER AIRCREW of Fighter Aircrew Career Flexibility Act do?

This section establishes the ``Retention of Experienced Regular Air Force Fighter Aircrew Pilot Program'' to allow one-time, time-limited career intermissions for eligible Air Force fighter aircrew. Participation is limited to officers with 11F and 12F AFSC designations who have completed their initial active duty service commitment. Participants will be placed in the Individual Ready Reserve during their intermission, which can last between 4 months and 1 year. While on intermission, participants may request a change in duration, adjudicated by the wing commander within 14 days. The Air Force shall ensure participants retain access to security clearances, base access, and other benefits to facilitate a rapid return to active duty. Upon returning to active duty, participants incur an Active Duty Service Commitment (ADSC) equal to double the duration of their intermission. Participation in the Program shall not be used as a negative factor in career development. The pilot program will terminate 5 years after its establishment, and a report assessing its effectiveness will be submitted to Congress within 4 years.
