This section establishes the Electric Vehicle Fire Response Working Group. The Secretary of Transportation must establish the working group within 90 days of the Act's enactment. The working group will consist of at least 22 members representing various sectors, including the towing industry, emergency response personnel, the automotive industry, research organizations, and federal agencies. The working group’s duties include continuously reviewing risks related to electric vehicle fires, existing best practices, and roadside incidents. The working group will periodically issue or update best practices and guidance for responding to electric vehicle fires. The working group will report roadside incidents involving electric vehicle fires to the National Emergency Response Information System (NERIS). The working group will submit an annual report to Congress and make it publicly available. The working group is subject to termination 10 years after its establishment.
