This bill rescinds unobligated balances from several COVID-19 related Acts. The rescinded funds will be used for deficit reduction and deposited into the general fund of the Treasury. The President can waive the rescission of funds for specific accounts or programs by notifying the House and Senate budget committees within 60 days of the Act's enactment. The bill rescinds funds from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, Division M or N of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, the CARES Act, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, and the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2020.
