The boundary adjustment modifies the map and acreage designation within the Act, increasing the acreage from 48,438 to 57,728 acres. The Act grants the Southern Nevada Water Authority a temporary and permanent right-of-way for water pipeline infrastructure, subject to certain conditions and limitations. The Authority is permitted to excavate and dispose of materials from tunneling the water pipeline without consideration. The Secretary and the Authority must enter into a memorandum of understanding regarding the disposal of excavated materials. The expansion of the Conservation Area boundary does not preclude activities authorized by existing utility corridors or rights-of-way. The Act states that nothing in it modifies the existing management of the Conservation Area.
