The hotline will offer access to licensed mental and behavioral health support providers. Staffing for the hotline will consist of psychologists and social workers employed by the Department. These employees will provide advice on discussing mental health with veterans and offer referrals to relevant programs and resources. The Secretary must provide information about the Program to veterans service organizations and other relevant organizations within 60 days of establishment. Promotional materials will be distributed at Vet Centers and medical facilities, and the Program will be promoted on a publicly accessible website. The Secretary is required to submit a report to the Senate and House Committees on Veterans' Affairs detailing the Program's results, including call statistics and referral data. The Program will terminate three years after its establishment. An 'eligible recipient' includes family members, individuals residing with a veteran, and friends.
