What does TRANSFER OF FEDERAL STUDENT LOANS FROM PARENT TO CHILD. of Parent PLUS Loan Fairness and Responsibility Act of 2026 do?

This section amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 to allow for the transfer of Federal student loans from a parent to a child. A covered parent loan may be transferred if the loan is in good standing, was used for the child's educational expenses, and the child is at least 18 years old and demonstrates the ability to repay.
