Members may jointly establish new categorical exclusions for interstate electric energy transmission or battery energy storage projects deemed to have a minimal environmental impact. The group must submit a report to Congress within 360 days detailing adopted/established exclusions, reasons for inaction, and recommendations for future collaboration and statutory exclusions. The Interagency Group will dissolve after submitting its report.
