What does REPORT ON INTEGRATION OF AI INTO COMMERCIAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS of AI-Ready Networks Act do?

This section requires the Assistant Secretary to publish a report on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into commercial telecommunications networks within 18 months of the Act's enactment. The report must assess international and industry standards for AI in telecommunications, analyze voluntary use cases, and recommend addressing workforce needs. Recommendations are also required for enhancing network security and leveraging AI to promote transparency, accountability, and public trust. The report should include recommendations for modernizing the Communications Act of 1934 to reflect AI advancements. The Assistant Secretary must consult with various entities, including the Federal Communications Commission, NIST, DHS, CISA, state and local governments, telecommunications companies, and academic organizations. A draft report will be published for public comment one year after enactment, and public comments will be considered in the final version.
