This section requires the Attorney General to release unclassified records related to Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and associated individuals and entities within 30 days of the Act's enactment. The released documents must be searchable and downloadable, encompassing investigative materials, communications, flight logs, and records concerning immunity deals and internal DOJ communications. Records can be withheld only under specific circumstances, such as to protect personally identifiable information of victims, child sexual abuse materials, active investigations, depictions of abuse or death, or classified national security information. Any redactions must be accompanied by a written justification published in the Federal Register and submitted to Congress. The Attorney General is directed to declassify information to the maximum extent possible, and if declassification is not possible, to release an unclassified summary. Decisions to classify covered information after July 1, 2025, must be published in the Federal Register and submitted to Congress.
