This section amends Title II of the Public Health Service Act to codify the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. The Advisory Committee provides advice and guidance to the Director on the use of vaccines and related agents. The Committee makes recommendations on vaccine use based on a preponderance of the best available, peer-reviewed scientific evidence. The Director reviews and adopts or rejects the Committee's recommendations, and publishes the results. The Committee also establishes and reviews the list of vaccines for administration to children and adolescents eligible to receive vaccines through the Vaccines for Children Program.

What does NATIONAL VACCINE INJURY COMPENSATION PROGRAM. of Family Vaccine Protection Act do?

This section amends subsection (c) of section 2114 of the Public Health Service Act. Any modifications to the Vaccine Injury Table, including additions to the list of compensable injuries, must be supported by the preponderance of the best available scientific evidence. The Secretary retains the authority to add new vaccines to the Vaccine Injury Table under subsection (e).
