Consultation with these groups is required to ensure the information is relevant and useful. The Secretary may also disseminate information through partnerships with nonprofit organizations, labor organizations, governmental entities, and the media. The Secretary is authorized to support efforts to identify and create model guidelines, protocols, and evidence-based practices for treating concussion and TBI in public safety officers through grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements. The term 'public safety officer' is defined as having the meaning given in section 1204 of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968.
