The Secretary of Veterans Affairs must appoint at least one family coordinator in each Veterans Integrated Service Network, no later than five years after enactment. The Program's goals include connecting veterans to family resources, improving healthcare through internal partnerships, capturing data for process improvement, and acting as a community liaison. The Secretary will establish metrics to assess the Program's progress, including referral rates, health factors, and satisfaction levels. The Secretary has the authority to expand the Program to additional medical centers as deemed appropriate. Within two years of the Program's commencement, the Secretary must submit a report to Congress detailing the Program's progress, including data on participants, services provided, and outcomes. ’Supportive services’ are defined as services addressing the social, emotional, and mental health, career-readiness, and other needs of children.
