This section amends title 38 of the United States Code to require lactation spaces in Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers. The Secretary of the VA must ensure each medical center contains a lactation space. A lactation space is defined as a hygienic place, other than a bathroom, that is shielded from view, free from intrusion, accessible to disabled individuals, contains a chair and working surface, is easy to locate, clearly identified, and available for use by women veterans and members of the public. The bill clarifies that this section does not authorize entry into areas individuals are not already authorized to enter. The table of sections at the beginning of chapter 17 of title 38 is amended to include the new section 1720M. The Secretary must carry out section 1720M not later than two years after the enactment of this Act.
