This joint resolution appoints Shirley Ann Jackson to the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution. The appointment fills a vacancy in the class other than Members of Congress, resulting from the expiration of Hanna H. Gray's term. The term of appointment is for 6 years, beginning on the later of April 14, 2005, or the date of enactment. The appointment is made in accordance with section 5581 of the Revised Statutes of the United States (20 U.S.C. 43).
